Currently serving as the Associate General Counsel at the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), April advises on a wide range of legal matters for the Office of the General Assembly and the Presbyterian Mission Agency, including federal tax exemption, reporting requirements, political activity, grant-making, and more. She manages the group exemption for approximately 10,000 organizations under the PC(U.S.A.), ensuring tax compliance, providing guidance, and consulting with church governing bodies.

In addition to her tax expertise, April also offers legal counsel on international issues, property, contracts, employment, and security matters. She is actively involved in training staff on Ethics Policy and excels in areas like conflict resolution, team leadership, and board training.

April Davenport holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville and a Bachelor of Science in Management with Finance Option from Purdue University Krannert School of Management.
