"The Mom Test" Back in October, after talking about a side project I was looking into, a great friend of mine recommended “The Mom Test” by Rob Fitzpatrick. This is a book about “how to do effective sales and custdev as an introverted techie” in the author’s own words.
I enjoy reading, especially how-to books in various categories. However, many authors fail to be specific, actionable, and concise. It’s frustrating to spend time reading what you mostly know and waiting page after page for valuable insight. Thus it’s so enjoyable when you come across one that simply does a good job. Rob Fitzpatrick outlines neatly what the pitfall (and origin of the title) is, how it can really derail your project and empty your bank account, and very specific actions including the reasons behind them in the second two-thirds of the book. Compact but detailed, technical but enjoyable, a great book for anyone with an idea they want to see get off the ground.
Available on Amazon for $18 (paperback). Also available as Kindle and audio book.
