Dr. Armando de Pina Filho is a prominent figure in the field of Mechanical Engineering, with a diverse and extensive academic background.

He graduated in Mechanical Industrial Engineering in 1995 from CEFET/RJ and later pursued his Master's in 2001, followed by a Doctorate in 2005, and Post-Doctorates in 2006 and 2007 in Mechanical Engineering from COPPE/UFRJ.

Currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Graphic Expression at the Polytechnic School of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Dr. Filho is deeply involved in academia and research.

He is also a permanent faculty member and the Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Urban Engineering at POLI/UFRJ, demonstrating his leadership and commitment to education and innovation.

With a strong focus on Mechanical Engineering, his expertise lies in areas such as Automation, Robotics, Biomechanics, Nonlinear Dynamics, and Computational Modeling, with key research interests in bipedal locomotion and mechanism modeling.

Dr. Armando de Pina Filho is the head of the ARMS research group (Automation, Robotics, and Systems Modeling), highlighting his role in advancing cutting-edge research and technological applications.

His research at PEU/POLI/UFRJ delves into methods and techniques applied in Urban Engineering, particularly in the realm of urban automation, showcasing his dedication to addressing contemporary urban challenges through innovative engineering solutions.

Throughout his career, Dr. Filho has been associated with prestigious institutions such as UFRJ, where he has held positions as Associate Professor, formerly Adjunct Professor, and formerly Substitute Professor, solidifying his reputation as a respected academic and researcher.
