"Show, don't tell." It's not just a catchy phrase or creative writing mantra; it's the secret sauce that turns plans into action - a guiding philosophy that transforms concepts into reality. And it can change your life for the better.
As an entrepreneur, I've learned promises are just echoes until they're backed by real results. Instead of philosophizing and deliberating, I prefer to roll up my sleeves and just cut to the chase. You know, to make things happen.
It's easy to articulate grand plans and paint vivid pictures of success. However, the true magic happens when those ideas materialize into palpable achievements. Three particular areas where this really matters:
🙌 Collaborative Innovation: Forget just chatting about groundbreaking ideas and promising perfect. Instead, get your customers and users involved, take them behind the scenes with demos and design shares. It's not just a chat; it's a team effort. The best ideas? They're born when we build them together outside of a vacuum - with the people who will actually pay to use them.
🔥 Proof for Partners: When it comes to advisors and investors, I don't just talk about what we’re doing or want to do. I hand them the real deal—data, testimonials, plans, you name it. "See, we didn't just dream it; we made it happen. And here's the proof."
🚀 Evidence-Led Problem Solving: If someone says, "Users hate this feature,” I don't just nod along. I want receipts—emails, reviews, comments, threads. Evidence. And if the team suggests a game-changing design or new product, I want a quick outline to prove they've really thought it through. I want to know you actually care enough to see it through.
Look, I know you crave the real stuff - I always do. It’s why being authentic means showing the real, the tangible, and the things that actually matter. And trimming away all the fluff and nonsense from our interactions.
Remember, in the end, it's not just about the promises we make but how we fulfill them. In a world full of talkers, I compel you to be a doer. Don’t just talk about what you’re working on; show it in progress. Because in the end, action speaks way louder than words. And tangible evidence elevates credibility fast.
(If you've reached this point, I admire that you actually actually finish what you start - like reading this post! And you'll note that the above picture showed - instead of told - you how a group of happy monkeys welcomed me to the Peruvian Amazon jungle!)
Now, spill the beans—share a moment when your actions said more than words. In a world hungry for realness, let's lead the way!
