Arnon Grunberg

Arnon Grunberg is a prolific Dutch writer born in Amsterdam in 1971. He started his career with various jobs after leaving Vossius Gymnasium, including working as a pharmacy assistant, dishwasher, and publisher.

At the young age of 23, Grunberg made his debut with the novel 'Blauwe maandagen' at Nijgh & Van Ditmar publishing house. Since then, he has authored 16 novels, such as 'De Asielzoeker,' 'Tirza,' and 'Huid en Haar.' Additionally, his columns, essays, short stories, and reports have appeared in renowned publications like Volkskrant, NRC Handelsblad, and The New York Times, to name a few.

His most recent works include 'Slachters en Psychiaters,' a collection of journalistic reports spanning from 2009 to 2020, and the novel 'De dood in Taormina.' Grunberg's writings have been translated into 30 languages, showcasing his global appeal. In recognition of his narrative prose, he was honored with the prestigious P.C. Hooft Award in 2022.
