#Heroism #Amidst #Sudan's #Crises: Dr. Mudathir's Dedication in the Face of Floods, War, and Famine

In the heart of Sudan's unfolding humanitarian disaster, where floods, war, and famine converge, #Dr. #Mudathir, the #director of #Tokar #Hospital, emerges as a beacon of hope and resilience. His unwavering commitment to his patients saw him #braving #flooded #streets, #swimming #from #his #quarters #to the #hospital, ensuring that those in need received the #critical #care they desperately sought.

Dr. Mudathir's extraordinary act of courage serves as a stark reminder of the countless sacrifices made by healthcare professionals across Sudan, even as the world remains largely oblivious to their plight. The international community's silence on the #war, #famine, and floods ravaging Sudan is deafening. Current estimates reveal a staggering reality: over 25 million people, half of Sudan's population, require urgent #humanitarian aid. More than 8.5 million are grappling with emergency levels of #hunger, with over 750,000 facing catastrophic conditions. The conflict has resulted in over 18,800 deaths and more than 33,000 injuries. Furthermore, recent floods have displaced over 310,000 people and tragically claimed nearly 138 lives. While the Sudanese people fight for survival, powerful nations prioritize their own interests, shielding those responsible for the genocide, war crimes, and the man-made #famine that plagues Sudan.

The UAE's role, particularly that of HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in fueling the current war through their support for the #Janjaweed, remains shamefully unchallenged. This war has not only devastated Sudan but also engineered a famine that threatens millions with #starvation.

As we bear witness to these atrocities, we cannot allow the human cost of this negligence to fade into obscurity. The international community must awaken to the grim realities in Sudan and take decisive action to alleviate this suffering. We owe it to the countless heroes like Dr. Mudathir who continue to battle for the lives of their fellow citizens, even when the world abandons them.

🌍⛔️☣️☢️ The Untold Story of Sudan's Refugee Generosity 🌍⛔️☢️☢️

Imagine a country opening its arms to over 1 million refugees, providing shelter and safety without asking for a single document or fee. That country was Sudan. At one point, Sudan was the largest refugee-hosting nation in Africa, offering sanctuary to those fleeing unimaginable horrors from its neighbor's African countries.

Now, picture this: If Sudan had been paid the exorbitant fees EU refugees' countries demand today—20,000 euros ($21,870) per person—the financial burden on the global community would have been astronomical.

Let's break it down:

EU countries have set a fee of at least 20,000 euros ($21,870) per asylum seeker for EU countries who refuse to accept their share of 30,000 applicants.

1,000,000 refugees x 20,000 euros = 20,000,000,000 euros (20 billion euros)

In dollars, this would be:

20,000,000,000 euros x $21,870/20,000 euros = $21,870,000,000 (21.87 billion dollars)

The refugee movement was always dynamic and there was a continuous influx of new refugees to Sudan over the last 6 decades. Sudan's contribution is nothing short of heroic, when the tide changed and Sudanese became refugees in Egypt and Ethiopia, despite their economic challenges, faced exorbitant fees of $1,000 to $3,000 per person every 12 months just to stay. They also endure countless administrative and security hurdles to get to these countries or secure paid residency.

Sudanese without documents—because no one has time to collect anything when they are under fire—or who cannot afford these fees are often deported, further compounding their suffering.

🔍 The Real Question:

How does the international community, especially affluent nations like the United States and EU, treat Sudanese refugees compared to Ukrainian refugees?

The crisis in Sudan is undeniably dire, yet the level of support and empathy often appears to differ.

What distinguishes these two humanitarian crises?

Not all countries have turned their backs. Uganda and Eritrea, despite their economic challenges, have kept their doors open to Sudanese refugees, demonstrating true solidarity and compassion.

📢 Call to Action:

It's time for the world to recognize and honor the sacrifices and contributions of countries like Sudan. We must step up and support Sudanese refugees with the same urgency and compassion shown to others.
