You will not be faulted to believe that Indian economy is struggling if you were glued into youth ecosystem.

The youngsters have horror stories to share about state of summer placements with large chunks of batches unplaced at top B Schools like IIM-C/L/I/K etc. Some news and information is in the attached image. Good enough to short the Indian stock indices !! Similar news from top Engineering Schools.

But truth is far from it. There are still many positions open. Only thing different is that fad driven employers who hired on a brand name are missing or downsized their intake and value seeking employers are the ones hiring.

Clearly with huge increase in quantity of intake the quality has suffered in most top institutes - both Business and Engineering schools. The vast majority just do not bring value to the table for a discerning employer. And this is not only India phenomenon. Elon Musk called out in a tweet that :you no longe can trust elite colleges" (tweet image enclosed in the collage below)

My personal experience being that we visited a top NIT in North India for a business role with CTC of ₹12 lakh. We had 80+ participation and a basic aptitude test which not a single candidate cleared !! We could have hired upto 12 numbers that day but did Zero and did not bother going to any NIT thereafter.

The same aptitude test administered in tier 3 colleges nearly a decade ago got me 3% to 5% pass through.

Signing off by with a quote from movie named 3 idiots " Become capable, success will have no choice but to chase you " . Rest assured Indian economy is fastest growing major economy, Indian stock indices near life time high and there are ample number of opportunities. We at eLitmus are wlways hiring at 0 to 8 year levels , across roles as long as you have value to offer !!
