Vishing or voice phishing is a type of cyber-attack in which attackers use phone calls and social engineering techniques to collect sensitive information from their targets. Vishera very convincingly threatens and talks to the victim. They usually pose as law enforcement or bank officials, informing the target that her/his account has been hacked. After that, the victim is prompted to install malware disguised as a legitimate application or packaged in a regular ZIP archive. However, voice phishing is not limited to calls. Most often, a vishing attack starts with an SMS message, which is why some users consider vishing and smishing to be the same. However, despite the similar goals and methods, vishing and smishing are very different from each other. Let's take a quick look at their differences and learn more about voice phishing attacks. #cyber #cybersecurity#cyberattack #ai Acquisory Consulting LLP #inf #informationsecurity
The hacker started using Google Drive and Dropbox to avoid detection. Hackers from Nobelium take advantage of users' trust in cloud storage services and use them to spread malware. This tactic makes it extremely difficult to detect and stop a cyberattack. In its latest attacks, Nobelium uses phishing messages that link to a malicious HTML file called agenda.html, which acts as a dropper for an additional malicious payload that includes the Cobalt Strike Beacon. This HTML file is an EnvyScout tool that is used to infect the victim with other malware. Nobelium uses EnvyScout to deobfuscate the payload, as well as download the malicious ISO file (agenda.iso) to the victim's hard drive. After downloading the ISO file, the victim must click on it, and then on the link file that appears, to run the malicious code and the infection chain on their system. #cyberattack #cyber security #cybersecurity awareness #application security Acquisory Consulting LLP Acquisory Cyber Consulting LLP
