Today, I had the privilege of mediating a challenging situation for an organization that was evolving quickly. They made the excellent decision to #mediate early, rather than allow the situation to escalate.

The participants all approached the #mediation with professionalism and empathy, and engaged fully in the very difficult (and necessary) conversations. It was such a treat to see parties working through a #conflict treat each other with #respect, and work hard to fully understand where the other participants were coming from and learn their perspectives, even where there were significant points of disagreement.

This mediation was a welcome reminder to me that great things can be accomplished with collaboration and understanding, and that making the decision to mediate early can keep a challenging situation from getting out of control. While the #resolution was likely not one that made anyone "happy", it was one that will allow a clear a path forward.

Today I am #grateful to be a #mediator. I get immense #satisfaction from helping bring a conflict to a conclusion.

Dear humans of the internet:

If someone gets a new #headshot or changes the photo on their #website, that is not an invitation for you, random stranger, to tell them you don’t like it and express your opinion that they should change it back.

They aren’t interested in whatever strange kind of shaming you’re trying to express. Also, it is none of your business. It doesn’t concern you.

The image someone chooses to present to the world on behalf of themselves and/or their business is a personal choice. If you commend it, great. If it isn’t your taste, no one cares.
