Highlights
A big part of Akshara's work constitutes mobilizing the community to be involved in their child's education. This has led to community-led (and funded) Gram Panchayat Math Contests.
In the 2023-'24 edition, we facilitated 4,160 Gram Panchayat (GP) Contests in Karnataka, and 4,70,000 children from over 22,000 government primary schools participated.
The lowest performing district for Grade 4 was Kalaburagi and even here 40% of the children got 8 out of 20 questions correctly. This is a lot different from what we have been seeing in the past.
