Another drop! We've got another conversation starter of a beauty brand concept in the works for the sibling co-founders of Aman & Saman, a cherished client at The Nascent
This time, we're launching an anti-aging beauty brand.
We've taken a unique and interesting approach to its positioning, meshing the new with the old, being pro-aging and anti-aging in the same sentence. Fiercely combating and reversing the signs of aging, while illuminating self-acceptance and the inclusive celebration of beauty at all ages.
Introducing Maroon House, where anti-aging and pro-aging skincare collide in a fiery alchemy tango.
We want to challenge the traditional tenets of the beauty industry and repurpose the narrative of 'anti-aging' by being inclusive, holistic and realistic but without indulging in performative activism or being superficial and insensitive.
The name is open-ended, so gender pronoun & category agnostic, and doesn’t carry baggage. It's simple, fuzzy and catchy. The logo features a rising gradient moon, symbolizing endless growth and beauty.
Maroon, as the primary hue, symbolizes the brand's regal approach to skincare, blending opulence with efficacy. Its deep, velvety tone evokes a sense of timeless allure and sophistication, resonating with discerning individuals seeking age-defying solutions. symbolizes the transformative journey of embracing one's inner light while countering the effects of time.
The visual identity signifies infinite renewal and balance, echoing the eternal cycle of rejuvenation. The diamond replacing the 'm' stands for resilience, while the absence of a line in the 'a' represents openness to new beginnings. Hopefully, encapsulating the brand imagery from all important vantage points.
On the emotive front and in terms of our brand purpose, it's about our past defining us, and Maroon House would want to capture those imperfect and strangely connected wrinkles in time that have shaped who we've eventually become.
Also, in our silent subtext, we reinforce that beauty, like love, should always go hand in hand, without judgment or arbitrary standards.
Perfect for the holy grail and final punchline of ‘beautiful before, beautiful after.’
That's the immediate plan, finding the middle ground. We want Maroon House to resonate with mature individuals at the intersection of a few contradictions, and two Indias. Spotlight on nuanced skincare that doesn't take aging too seriously but isn’t skin deep either. Doesn't break the bank. Standing up for something timeless, a bit of function and meaning, and a lot of grace.
Coming out next month!
** Also, if you had to pick the final brand identity, which one would you have picked, had you been us ?** Option 1 (curvy) or 2 (bold)
