Highlights
It was such a pleasure to meet old friends and make new friends at IIT-Bombay's Faculty Alumni Network (FAN) Symposium at Stanford University today. FAN brings together IIT-B alumni who are in faculty and research positions to collaborate on a variety of topics.
Together with Prof. Shivaram Kalyanakrishnan, I convened the session on AI where I gave a talk on RL in Finance and moderated a panel on GenAI featuring Pandu Nayak , Girija Narlikar and Rajhans Samdani who provided unique insights on how they use GenAI in their jobs and also spoke about the risks with GenAI.
It was also my pleasure to engage with Prof. Manjunath from CMINDS and Dean (Faculty Affairs) Prof. Neela Nataraj from the Math department on new and interesting Applied Math and ML courses that would benefit IIT-B students. I plan to contribute to this teaching effort inspite of being remote.
Happy Guru Poornima to all my teachers for inspiring me to be a teacher!
It was my pleasure to close my course (Stanford CME 241) with a guest lecture from Svitlana Vyetrenko, Director of AI Research at JP Morgan. Svitlana covered practical nuances of RL for Trading and gave a fascinating account of how to build multi-agent simulators for trading markets. Svitlana also recently joined us as an Adjunct Lecturer and teaches an exciting course on ML for Electronic Trading.
