For those of you in SF who have procrastinated filling out your ballots, you may be surprised to see a 14-vote option for the "Member, County Central Committee." I was going to just skip over it given how much effort it'd be to look up each of the 30 or so names, but then came across a few articles that gave me enough of a nudge to dive in deeper.
This is an ideological fight for the DCCC (Democratic County Central Committee) pitting extreme left-wing 'progressives' who prefer to spend time and resources on culture-war, ideological, virtue signaling and anger-pandering that produces no measurable benefits versus more moderate Democrats who are fed up with a rapidly devolving city and want to actually address the needs of our communities.
While I know I won't agree with all of these people all of the time (I did still research each one of these candidates), I decided to vote for a more moderate, results-oriented platform for our Democratic party in SF by selecting these candidates for the DCCC: https://lnkd.in/gHw_4efT
As you see people calling for a ceasefire or holding rallies or candlelight vigils, just know that this is what they are supporting: https://lnkd.in/ghgenNsD
These are not progressives.
