Austin Chang is a seasoned product management leader with extensive experience in technology, design, and business strategy. He served as Director of Product Management for Google Assistant at Google from April 2017 to August 2021. During his tenure, he led product and strategy efforts for Google Assistant across various platforms, including mobile ecosystems, automotive interfaces (e.g., Android Auto and Android Automotive CarOS), and emerging markets like India. His work included projects such as Google Driving Mode and Android feature phone OS with Google Assistant integration.123

Chang's career spans over 25 years in leadership roles at prominent companies like Meta, Pinterest, and MTV Networks. Before joining Google, he was the Head of Engagement Product at Pinterest, where he led user engagement initiatives. He also co-founded Fridge, a group-based social networking platform that was acquired by Google in 2011. Most recently, Chang was appointed as the Chief Product Officer at Craft.co in October 2024, where he oversees global product strategy and innovation.14

He holds a BA in Biochemistry and Art History from Williams College and an MFA in Design & Technology from Parsons School of Design, where he graduated as valedictorian.1
