Ava Kelly, also known as Alfred F. Kelly, Jr., is a prominent figure in the business world with a wealth of experience in leadership roles within various organizations. He currently holds the position of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Visa, a role he assumed in October 2016. In addition to his role at Visa, he was elected Chairman of the Board in April 2019. Prior to his tenure at Visa, Mr. Kelly had a distinguished career at American Express spanning 23 years, where he held several senior positions, culminating in his role as President from July 2007 to April 2010. He also served as the President and Chief Executive Officer at Intersection, a technology and digital media company backed by Alphabet. Mr. Kelly's professional journey includes serving as the President and CEO of the 2014 NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Company, overseeing the organization and fundraising efforts for Super Bowl XLVIII. Before his time at American Express, he held key roles in information systems at the White House and in financial planning at PepsiCo Inc. Mr. Kelly is actively involved in various board positions, including serving on the boards of Visa and Catalyst, and holding leadership roles in multiple entities within the Archdiocese of New York. Among his notable roles, he also serves as Chairman of the Board of the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, a Trustee of New York Presbyterian Hospital, and Boston College. Mr. Kelly holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer and Information Science, as well as a Master of Business Administration degree, both from Iona College.
