Problem with Publisher Studio's Biz Models, according to Digiday: Poor margins because they have to pay top rate journalists as full time employees and their actual publication isn't enough of an audience to scale (which is practically the only benefit of working w/ these guys), so most profit has to go to distribution, leaving no $$ for the studios themselves.

Solution: A studio that instead hires top rate journalists on a contractual basis, creates relationships with PR teams and editorial teams to get those posts in the same publication the Pub Studio is offering, and hires top notch editors in house while leaving paid distro to the client's marketing team, which is most often the team's strength to begin with. This solution would achieve the same result more efficiently at a fraction of the cost, leaving the studio in question with a decent margin.

Ah, wait- that's my company, Studio 96. #results
