So here I was, working at F2 Venture Capital, Darrow’s (back then known as Claimentine) first investors. My role as accelerator manager was to follow these 3 weird and ambitious people (Elad Spiegelman, Gila Hayat, Evyatar Ben Artzi) and help them with anything as they built their solution to uncovering human rights violations. I experienced their highs and their lows right along with them in the earliest stages of their journey. I watched them learn the ropes, and I couldn’t help but feel the magic
Our friendship grew as we collected memories together. I remember Gila sleeping on the office couch at 3 am, waiting for the YC interview. I would challenge Elad to find connections between "Parashat Hashavua" to concepts from the startup universe... and he would do it, obviously. I hosted them at my desk, but after the 12th employee, I said ‘Halas’ and encouraged them to find their own home. I kept following them from the sidelines, visiting them every week (just a few floors down) as they grew from 12 to 22 to 35 in just a few months. I just loved being around them and I had a real FOMO, which only grew as time passed!I am employee number 37 (I joined the US team as #4), but technically I was here before everyone... sorry Meori Elias, Dan Ben Zvi, but it’s true.
