My mother has spent the last 24 hours going "Where are the new episodes? I can only see an introduction."

This post is for you Almas Daya.

Thank you Laila Shariff and the rest of the team The Ismaili for the fab launch of Muslim Footprints as a standalone brand, and the beautiful posts. 🙌

On the subject of launching a brand, I want to give a special mention to Sara Fares from the lovely team at Bloomberg Media for sharing her expertise so generously. She took time out to think through with me how we might want to take the podcast forward. She also offered valuable feedback as we went through various iterations of video content - which you will see if you follow our page on any channel of your choice :)

So thank you Sara, for the advice and encouragement - it's finally happening! 🎉

It’s been a week since I returned from an ambitious but truly awesome trip to the US and London (six cities, one conference, five video shoots, all in nine days!).

A few hours after landing in Dubai I met an old friend for lunch. He’s a successful entrepreneur, and we talked about some foundational pillars for success. He mentioned honesty, aiming to be the best. Most important, he said, was to have a #vision - he reads his vision statement every day! And has a five-year plan for achieving it.

That conversation stayed with me as I finally sat down this weekend to plan 2024. You'll remember if you've done this at some point that it takes courage to set a vision! Audacity even.

Let's hope that what gets measured, gets done. It just felt really good to have all my ideas down on paper, in order. 📝
