Barbara holds a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) from the Rhode Island School of Design and has further honed her skills through a fellowship in Philanthropy, Nonprofit Management, and Social Entrepreneurship at Stanford University.

Throughout her career, Barbara has held key positions in organizations that focus on art, community building, and urban development. She is the Founder of Art Builds Community and has previously served as the Principal at Barbara Goldstein & Associates, specializing in Creative Placemaking and Public Art Planning.

Barbara's rich professional background includes roles such as being an Author for Public Art by the Book at Americans for the Arts, a Webinar Producer for Creative Placemaking and Public Art at Americans for the Arts, and a Public Art Director at both the City of San Jose Office of Cultural Affairs and the City of Seattle.

Her experience extends to directing design review and cultural planning at the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, managing projects at LA Task Force on the Arts, and editorial roles at various architectural publications.
