Highlights
About 5 years ago I was thrilled to have finished my grad studies. But at the same time, I had NO idea what my next step would be. I remember frantically googling "what jobs can I get with a PhD in Psychology and Neuroscience" trying to just understand the landscape of possibilities.
Now I'm excited to share that I have the privilege of leading our global Solutions Consulting organization. I get to work with an amazing team who teach others about the benefits and value of conducting high quality research using the most amazing technology.
What I wish I would have known back then is that all I needed to do was take that first leap into the unknown. After that first leap, the second, third, and fourth become much easier 😉
P.S. I am hiring! If you'd like to take your leap with us, please reach out! https://lnkd.in/gHdb9MU4
I’ve got some exciting news to share! I’ve taken on another role—that of a mom ☺️ It’s been an amazing experience and I love my baby girl more than anything in the universe.
One of the many things I got told prior to my leave was to enjoy the "time off” and to take a break from work.
At first I felt guilty that I wanted to check in and stalk Slack channels to keep up with what was going on.
But eventually I came to realize that it’s OKAY to want to think about work. It’s not like I couldn’t both enjoy the baby and enjoy reading about solution engineering! I’m lucky that I love what I do and the people I work with. Keeping up with work helped me maintain a semblance of normalcy during the newborn phase.
Biggest lesson learned? Take parental advice with a grain of salt and do whatever makes you happy.
Thankful for the amazing parental leave policy that @quantilope offers and for my wonderful colleagues who supported me during my leave and gave me such a warm welcome back. Now off to work.
