Highlights
Recently, I conducted a 7-hour experiment to see how AI, specifically GPT-Vision, could automate UI improvements from user behavior analytics. The traditional method involves a tedious review of click heatmaps and then manual UI updates. Our approach automated this, using GPT-Vision to suggest frontend code changes directly from heatmap analysis.
The process was straightforward:
- Analyze click heatmaps with GPT-Vision.
- Suggest specific UI changes.
- Convert these suggestions into technical requirements.
- Implement the changes using our tech stack. We used Next.js/Tailwind/React for the frontend site.
The experiment was largely successful. GPT-Vision's recommendations were accurate and led to direct, applicable enhancements! However, the code generation and integration part still needed some refinement (maybe because we only had 7 hours :p). Thanks Devin Liu and Matthew Diakonov for hacking with me!
