Ben Evans is a computer science researcher and PhD student with a focus on robotics and machine learning. He completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Science at the University of Washington.1 During his time there, he worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Robotics and State Estimation Lab from September 2017 to September 2018.1 His research projects included deep structured video prediction and work on a 1/16 scale excavator to automate digging.1

After graduating from the University of Washington, Evans pursued a PhD in Computer Science with a focus on Robotics at New York University, which he began in 2020.12 His research interests include reinforcement learning and control, as evidenced by his work in the Movement Control Lab at the University of Washington.1

In addition to his academic pursuits, Evans has industry experience, having completed internships at Adobe and DSSD/EMC.1 He has also served as a Teaching Assistant for undergraduate and graduate-level courses in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and robotics at the University of Washington.1
