We're On Our Way

Before your food is ready for delivery, or while waiting for a driver to connect for your pickup, there's always a little sense of anxiety. When will they get here? What is traffic like? Do I even really need to go/get it? But then the map changes...a driver connects, your delivery is ready for pickup and a message appears on screen..."On Our Way"....phew

It's a phrase not just built into the Uber App, but embedded into our DNA as a company. "On Our Way" represents a promise across our lines of business - and a promise to our partners and customers that we are just getting started.

We've reached our first destination, but there are many more to come.

Today is a BIG day for Destination Based Entertainment.

When I first came to Uber a year and a half ago, it was obvious that our in-car tablets were one of the most exciting and forward-thinking pieces of the mobility business. As we explored the space, we began to innovate on design philosophy, partnerships and what it really meant to have a fully curated entertainment+commerce experience while in the back of your vehicle.

JourneyTV became the answer to those questions. A bespoke platform much more akin to connected tv than traditional out of home advertising. A personalized welcome screen, content curated by where you are going, what you like and when you like it - all in a premium and safe environment where brands can take advantage of the largest screen in the vehicle.

Today's exciting announcement with T-Mobile is a recognition that we are onto something. Partnering together with the Octopus Network and scaling overnight to over 50,000 new vehicles, we know this is only the beginning. Congrats to Gil Schwartz Patrick Colletto Troy Shamos Mrinalini Nair Jillian Kranz and the countless others who helped build the business with heart, grit and an imagination of what the future of personalized entertainment can look like.
