My heart is broken today with the passing of Greg Bright, a giant of financial journalism and compassionate, loving soul.   The impact that Greg had on my life and career - and the lives of hundreds of others - cannot be understated.   Not only did Greg shape the trajectory of Australia’s investment market – driving integrity and transparency – he always put humanity at the center. He cared less about profit than purpose. He cared nothing for appearances and everything for authenticity: the real stories of people – their motivations, non-linear journeys, families, and personal struggles.   Greg did not have a judgmental bone in his body. He gave freely of his time, attention, and expertise to those at all levels and in all corners. His focus was always on learning, on mentorship, and on community, both small and large.   There are dozens of cultures in dozens of workplaces – Tideline included – that have been influenced by Greg, who was unconditionally trusting, empowering, and supportive of his team.   This is a huge loss.

A great report from Temasek and reminder of what it takes to be catalytic at institutional scale (noting that "catalytic capital" is recognized as a foundational enabler of Temasek's organizational strategy, known as T2030).

The message: when impact investment (#impinv) opportunities are not immediately available, create them; when impact infrastructure is lacking, build it.

To wit: Temasek launching ABC Impact; backing LeapFrog Investments; establishing GenZero; partnering with BlackRock on Decarbonisation Partners; founding Centre for Impact Investing and Practices (CIIP) (through Temasek Trust); and supporting The Global Impact Investing Network's Impact Lab.

That's real market building. Kudos.
