In reflecting on my experience in an ever-changing Business Operations Lead role, I found many opportunities to learn and make an impact: • Establishing a business operating cadence, facilitating exec-level reviews of our business performance, and supporting board-level reporting • Leading cross-functional initiatives related to M&A, procurement, and scaling access to data insights • Managing content, MC’ing, and actioning feedback for 350+ attendee All-Hands Meetings • Leading the Operations team and Data Science team in prioritization and sprint planning • Collaborating with functional leaders to address business questions answered by developing Looker and Tableau dashboards • Acting as an internal data product manager / owner embedded within the Data Science team
In my next role, I will build on this experience of identifying challenges to address, developing data-driven recommendations, and leading the execution efforts. Depending on the organization’s needs, that could be as part of Revenue Operations, Business Operations, Financial or Data Analysis, or Project Management, among other areas.
Regardless of title, I’ll continue to emphasize the importance of building relationships, clearly communicating priorities and progress, and aligning to business outcomes that make a difference for prospects, customers, and employees.
