Originating from California and now situated in Dublin, Benjamin is the driving force behind the Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra, serving as its founder and president. He actively engages in performing, teaching, and overseeing all aspects of artistic planning, fundraising, and marketing for Kaleidoscope. Benjamin's exceptional work has garnered accolades from various reputable sources including ABC News, KUSC Radio, Los Angeles Times, and the Washington Post.

For over a decade, Benjamin has been a regular performer at the Lucerne Festival, collaborating with eminent composers like George Benjamin, Liza Lim, and Pierre Boulez. He is a co-curator of the Forward Festival and a member of the Contemporary Leaders, actively involved in the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra. Furthermore, he imparts his knowledge as a faculty member at the Lucerne Festival Academy, and has contributed to renowned organizations such as the Aspen Music Festival, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Ensemble intercontemporain.

Benjamin Mitchell has an impressive track record as a soloist and chamber musician, having premiered numerous compositions at esteemed venues like Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and Wigmore Hall. He is known for his commitment to fostering new opportunities for composers, exemplified by his initiative at Kaleidoscope, which led to the creation of the world's largest open-access library of contemporary music. Benjamin has a rich history of commissioning works from a diverse range of composers, demonstrating his dedication to expanding the classical music repertoire.

Education-wise, Benjamin Mitchell has pursued his passion for music extensively, holding graduate degrees from institutions like Rice University, Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, and the Royal Academy of Music. He also completed his studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Indiana University. Additionally, Benjamin is a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique, having completed his training at the Alexander Training Institute of Los Angeles.
