Highlights
As the Australian winter draws near and the long summer days fade into the rear-view mirror, there's a natural inclination to settle in, take cover, and prepare for the long season ahead (not that we can complain about winters in Australia 🇦🇺 ). For me, this transition always sparks deep reflection, especially as the nights grow longer and I find myself immersed in my home office. It's a pivotal moment to assess the trajectory of the year so far, to recalibrate plans, and to brace ourselves for the challenges ahead. Recently, our team gathered off-site at Glenelg Surf Life Saving Club Inc for our quarterly strategy session, a regular occurrence where we dissect our progress, pinpoint areas for improvement, and share valuable insights across departments. This time, there was an electric energy in the air as our 🇺🇸 US team of one (Blake Bender) convened in Adelaide. Many of us have been here since the inception or at critical junctures in our company's journey, making us a collective force, a team of founders shaping the essence of Lumin Sports. As the cool night descended upon us after our intense session, I couldn't help but reflect on the remarkable 6.5-year journey of Lumin. It's not just about me as a cliché start-up founder being proud of the team; it's about realising that we're onto something truly extraordinary. I'm genuinely excited and motivated by the immense potential ahead for Lumin. With a world-class team driven by a shared vision, we're poised to make a lasting impact on the industry. My small take away from this post is that there is an undeniable power in a small team of high-performing individuals united by a clear purpose. It's an exhilarating, challenging, and immensely satisfying adventure, and one that I would encourage every professional to try and find in their career. I have found it in Lumin and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
