Beth Heller

Beth Heller is the Senior Director of Education and Strategic Planning at the Urban Ecology Center (UEC) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. With a career dedicated to urban environmental education, she has significantly contributed to the development of sustainable educational opportunities for both youth and adults since joining UEC in 2000. Under her leadership, the center expanded from a single classroom in a trailer to three branches housed in state-of-the-art green buildings, serving around 150,000 people annually through various nature-based programs.12

Heller holds an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and has received multiple accolades for her contributions to education and community leadership. These include the 2009 Business Journal “40 under 40 Award”, the 2008 Blanch Hornbeck Award for Nature Education, and being named Educator of the Year by Wisconsin’s Conservation Congress in 2004. Her previous experiences include teaching high school biology, running Elderhostel programs, and rehabilitating wildlife. Beyond her professional commitments, Heller is an active volunteer and enjoys outdoor activities such as sailing, hiking, and skiing.12
