Highlights
Loved working in the culinary heat of NYC last week with some incredible entrepreneurs from across West Africa as part of over 100 businesses from across the continent at the #AfricaPavilionatSFF - enabled by USAID and Prosper Africa.
The cohort of businesses showcased their seriously delicious, nutritious and unique specialty #AfricaFineFoods. They captured the attention of a range of visitors to their booths at the #FancyFoodShow. I’m hoping the U.S market will see the vibrancy and the social value behind their businesses. As you can see below, the majority are women-owned businesses and they are contributing to local inclusive economic development.
I hope you get the chance to get to know the companies, the inspiring entrepreneurs, and their products.

Grateful for the opportunity to work with and serve these excellent exhibitors. And I am still retaining the buzz of the team effort from my colleagues at USAID Africa Trade and Investment Activity

I loved the hustle and bustle of day 1 of the #FancyFoodShow with all the team work that went into getting our #AfricaPavilionatSFF sizzling and creating a buzz. Highlights of the day include experiencing the six senses of chef Nana Araba Wilmot cook up some yassa onion crab cakes with select ingredients from across our exhibitors, including some lime juice from Vicca Juice Plus. Founder, Catherine Asare brought her spectrum of juices from Ghana. I am going to bring yassa into my weekly menu at home, so versatile to add to staple dishes - zing of scotch bonnet pepper, tangy vibes of lime, warmth of ginger and the creamy sautéed onions is a satisfying all rounder. Chef Nana added in other exhibitors’ products - premium salt from South Africa and Tanzania as well as ground ginger from Madagascar in the dish.
