I wrote a recent white-paper titled: "Improving Fraud Ring Detection Using Machine Learning to Reduce Credit Card Application Fraud" with my colleague Quentin Spencer. I've included the link below which might be behind an information wall (FYI, you've been warned!).

This was a fun collaboration with Quentin Spencer. I think we are fortunate to live and work at a time when so much data and compute are available at our fingertips. This also puts the burden on folks like us to be responsible caretakers and curators of these data. There are several folks here at TU who helped along the way. My supervisors Brad Daughdrill, PhD and Robert Stratton read the paper and provided valuable feedback. Additionally, Mike Russell read the initial drafts and gave us some good pointers. Then there's a whole other internal team at TU responsible for shepherding interesting studies and ensuring that they see the light of day. These are the folks behind the look-and-feel of the TU brand, but also the ones who ensure that what we publish on the Internet is the genuine article.

In other words, it really takes a village to create a rigorous analytical study around a human propagated phenomenon that affects us all. This is just our small contribution to the growing literature around fraud and the various forms that it continues to take on.

I'd like to thank each and every one at TU who helped Quentin Spencer and me along the way. Well, on to the next paper, and yeah it's going to be a doozy! :)
