I often speak about standing on the shoulders of giants - women who’ve paved the way for me and so many others through their intentional determination to show up. But at the end of the day, it all goes back to one woman. Maman, you have modeled intentional determination for as long as I can remember. At 32, a refugee in a new country with 2 little kids, you faced every challenge with courage and grace. From the early days of working with you in a gc/ms laboratory, to interning at IFF and tagging along for conferences, you modeled tenacity, kindness and leadership even while you were in the trenches.
It seems odd to put a post like this on LinkedIn, a professional networking platform, but I can’t help but appreciate how my mother and other women who mothered me helped shape me as the Global General Counsel I am today. And I can’t help but wonder where other women would be if they had the support and role models that I have every single day.
