It's week twenty-four of 2% Better 💪 , the series where I highlight an operational improvement my team is implementing that's not world-changing but gives us a meaningful small efficiency gain.
Let's discuss experiments! 🧪 (Cue made scientist music).
📓 Summary: My customer ed team is on a two-week sprint model, and 80%+ of our tasks relate to new products and feature updates. But I also endeavor to include a few experiments to see how we can improve our program and better support business goals.
🌀 Background: My team could easily spend 100% of our time on iterating content based on user feedback, new products, etc.
I intentionally try to set aside at least 10% of time each sprint for us to dig into more experimental project or "little bets." These are opportunities that could yield strong results but need some validation first.
Examples have included looking into innovative content formats, like quick tips videos; new tech, like Clueso (YC W23); and gathering user feedback in new formats, like via a Help Center feedback form.
📈 Impact: Some of the experiments fail, but others have led to huge efficiency gains on our team, helping us move forward.
For instance, we've made the move to Wistia and saved loads of time on video maintenance due to some early experiments that went well.
What kinds of experiments do you run as a team? 👀
