Bob Boilen is an American musician and media personality born on April 10, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York City.2 He is the creator and host of NPR's All Songs Considered and co-creator of NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts.235 Boilen retired from NPR in October 2023 after 35 years.2

Boilen currently hosts My Tiny Morning Show, a weekly radio show on WOWD-LP, and will become the station's program director in June 2024.23 He is also the author of "Your Song Changed My Life," a book where he interviews 35 artists about a song that changed their lives.13

In addition to his work in media, Boilen is a musician.12 He played synthesizers in the band Tiny Desk Unit from 1979 to 1981 and currently records with his band Danger Painters and solo ambient projects.21 He also plays with the improv bands Fanoplane and Tight Socks.13 Boilen is also a concert photographer who enjoys macro, infrared, and bird photography.1
