On the power of serendipity

I believe in serendipity, and the wonderful happenstances that ultimately comprise a life.

The thing is, you never know in advance by whom or what you will be inspired.

It’s that way with friends, and books, and late afternoon walks — and, it was that way with Lightning.

Inspiration arrived like a bright light in a dark sky. ⚡️

When I met Zohar Atkins, the founder of Lightning, I was immediately taken aback. It was like discovering a new friend, oddly reminiscent of someone I’d known my entire life.

I knew that our paths would intertwine, in one way or another. The murmurs were just too loud. It was the same with meeting everyone else on the team. Rainer Franz, Nicolas Sarian, Cyrus Palizban, Anne Dudek, Parul K., Alex Jakubowski, Amanda, and Sasha. Each as unique and compassionate as they are driven.

They conversations didn't start. They picked up.

It was as if serendipity had a name.

There’s an entire philosophy of life to be developed by “saying yes” to circumstance — to embracing the magnetism of the occasion.

What good fortune.

Unexpected discoveries, whether they are obscure footnotes that lead you to uncharted territories, or chance encounters that resonate of home, are more than just luck — they’re a willingness to embrace the new.

In many ways, this is learning...

To be sparked by change when it encounters you.
