WOW...... maybe we should just jump in and hear from Russell Glass, the Founder of Ginger that merged with Headspace to create one of the more successful companies focusing on the intersection of mental health and employee care programs

https://lnkd.in/gakKz9AC

Hear how he reflects on great outcomes by: *Create LUCK *Surround yourself with Great People (world Class, ethical, positive/optimistic) *Culture and Environment where YOU can beYOU *DO what FUELS you. It's not work when you are Passionate about it.

But, what I personally could relate to was that at the age of 13 he realized he could pay “commissions” or “referrals” to his friends at other HS to restring tennis rackets (HIS skill) and viola…….an ecosystem was created that enabled him to be a young entrepreneur and realize what GTM really stands for….. Get The Money and that it is about knowing customers, routes to access them and incentive structures.

And how a first Non-founder job landed him at the helm of the @headspace where they make mental health support accessible to everyone, no matter their background or experience.

Until next week… Listen, Learn and Share….

THROWBACK THURSDAY and Steve Blank is staple these days for what/how startups should think about success. YOU HAVE to listen to this https://lnkd.in/gcQCnAx9 and just absorb all his 8 start ups dating back to “fire and the wheel” and have shaped so many successful entrepreneurs and companies today.

Steve is an Adjunct Professor Stanford University and co-founder Stanford Gordian Knot Center for National Security Innovation. He’s also been described as the Father of Modern Entrepreneurship and Credited with launching the #LeanStartup movement, Blank has changed how startups are built; how entrepreneurship is taught; how science is commercialized, and how companies and the government innovate. My partner Keith Newman had an awesome convo covering the "History of Silicon Valley" and lots of insights for Founders and Startup leaders.

Starting with the importance of customer discovery and an MVP.  As Steve shares most 1st time founders spend the 1st two years stumbling and bumbling on what they think the customer needs….GET OUT THERE….

Validate, validate, validate….. Intimately know the Voice of Customer Build an Advisory Board to guide you Test/Invest Fail FAST

Today Steve teaches at the Lean Launchpad and is really cranking up how technology and defense are immensely important to our future.

Students of Lean LaunchPad are said to propose and immediately test business hypotheses. It is also said that they get out of the building to talk with prospective customers and partners, using this customer feedback acquired in these interviews to refine their product or service; ensure their product or service meets a customer need or solves a customer problem; and validate that they have created a repeatable, scalable business model.

Steve also shares the differences and LUXURIES today's Founders have in the 21st Century over the previous one and how this has impacted venture overall.

His journey is an amazing one that has come full circle. From the Military to Microchips to Super Computers to Consumer Peripherals to Gaming to .Com success and BEYOND.

Rich with content and the love for assisting entrepreneurs this LISTEN is a MUST for anyone in Startupland!!!!!!

The Lean Launchpad is being taught in over 100 schools and I got really fired up with a new program he recently launched https://www.h4d.us/  which is SO EXCITING!!!!!

Until next week… Listen, Learn and Share….
