I'm excited to share the new gratuity feature which is now available on Roam Club. Starting today, travel creators can monetize travel recommendations by enabling the new 'Tips' feature. Once turned on, any new follower you gain on Roam Club will be asked if they would like to provide a tip, as a thank you for your travel expertise.

To turn on Tips, you will be asked to sign up for Stripe and connect your bank account, which will allow new followers to send you their tips directly.

We're excited to get this feature out and looking forward to hearing what you think, as well as how we can continue to improve Roam Club for travelers of all types.

Special thanks, as always, to Andrii, Alisa, and the team at HotShots Labs for driving this launch.

I started an app! 💥 📱

Many of you know that I've been living full-time in Airbnb's for the past 1.5 years, moving to a new city each month. I've stayed in New York, London, Mexico City, Los Angeles, Savannah, Taos, and many more cities during this time.

During my visits to these 16 cities, I struggled to collect and easily access travel tips from friends. From Google Docs with confusing annotations to DMs, and independent Google Maps lists that needed to be viewed one by one – there was plenty of content, just not a simple way to see it all at once.

The recommendations were invaluable, but accessing them in a pinch was often the challenge.

Outside my 9-5, I've been diligently working on a travel app of my own. Roam Club lets users save travel recommendations to their profiles. These can then be easily discovered and followed by friends, all conveniently displayed on a central map. The app doesn't have a ton of features (unlike other apps out there), but that's the point – this should be simple!

Available on iOS and Android, I’m hoping to build a community of travelers who can easily swap recommendations. Chef to chef, foodie to foodie, surfer to surfer, friend to friend — the possibilities are endless. I'm also excited about the opportunity for this platform to become an consistent part of the travel experience, from planning to exploring new places, and then sharing those experiences with others.

There's still quite a bit of work to be done (thank you to my soft launch users!), but I'm eager to share this journey, gather feedback for improvements, brainstorm feature ideas, and more. Feel free to follow our page on LinkedIn for updates, and thank you for any early support 😀 . Thank you to the team at ⚡HotShots Labs for your support in bringing this idea to life – I'd give them a shout if you need an app launched of your own... Also thank you to Nicole and Bailey, our two TikTok all-stars that joined in on the launch with their own recommendations.
