Highlights
Excited to announce something BIG going live: Explorations 🗺️📍. What if your company was alive, and it could answer any question?
How much time and social capital might you save from not asking other humans?
Next Monday, we're releasing "Explorations" 🗺️📍[beta]
Ask your business anything.
- "Write me a three slide status update about my team's activity last week."
- "Who's the most frequent Customer Support documentation editor in Notion?"
- "Give me some ideas on the best person to celebrate for living our cultural values this week, with examples"
Explorations will look across Slack, Google Workspace, Atlassian, etc. and give you what you need to know in seconds.
Save your most useful Explorations and schedule them to re-run again and again...
We're still giving out free trials for anyone interested in giving it a go :)
It turns out Sunday Scaries are real. I've got the data 👇
At Village Labs, we connect to literally millions of documents, messages, and pieces of code. We aggregated our logs across Google Workspace, GitHub, HubSpot, and Slack and a few others across a very large number of businesses.
So, when does your team actually do work?
Here's my 🌶 take from the data:
- Sunday Scaries are real. People are super unproductive on Monday while they catch up and console themselves that the world isn't ending.
(👀 at how few documents are created!! I had to triple check the data b/c I thought it must wrong. It isn't.)
-
Tuesday is peak. Major bump in output to a weekly peak on Tuesdays (exc. code commits, which stay steady Tue-Thu)
-
Output trails off Tue->Fri, by which time people are 10-25% less productive vs. Tuesday, depending on your org.
-
Surprising amount of "solo planning" work happens over the weekend. Not a lot of messages, but in total about 2x the documentation as Monday.
Happy Monday! Don't worry, Tuesday will be better.
Please share your thoughts if I missed something.
