Brandan Taing

KNI SURF-the-WAVE Fellow at The Kavli Nanoscience Institute at Caltech

Brandan Taing is a 3rd-year chemical engineering student at UCLA with a keen interest in sustainability, energy storage, and nanotechnology. Throughout his academic journey, Brandan has been actively involved in various research groups focused on energy storage, such as the Li Group at UCLA, Greer Group at Caltech, and Lu Group at UCLA. He also has prior experience in energy management consulting.

Brandan is dedicated to his field and is an integral part of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) at UCLA. His roles have included being the UCLA Chapter Treasurer, an Executive Student Committee National Director, a member of the UCLA Chem-E-Car Team, among others. In addition to his academic and professional pursuits, Brandan finds fulfillment in volunteering as a tutor and mentor in his free time.

Brandan's academic background includes pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. His research experiences and active involvement in AIChE demonstrate his commitment to his field and his passion for contributing to the community and advancing knowledge in sustainability and energy-related areas.
