He then pursued his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), which equipped him with essential engineering principles. Following his undergraduate studies, he graduated with a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he deepened his expertise in complex engineering projects and systems.
In further pursuit of academic excellence and a quest to delve deeper into design methodologies, Brandon attained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Design from Stanford University. His advanced studies not only provided him with in-depth technical knowledge but also imbued him with a critical understanding of human-centered design approaches and socio-technical interactions.
Professionally, Brandon has held a plethora of significant positions that reflect his diverse skill set and passion for community engagement. As the Co-Founder of the Engineering Liberation Collective, he has been at the forefront of promoting engineering approaches that prioritize social justice and community-oriented solutions. This initiative embodies his belief in the power of collaborative design in addressing societal challenges.
Previously, he served as the Co-Director of The Metachangemakers Project, where he contributed to advancing innovative solutions that address pressing social issues. Brandon's experience as a Doctoral Candidate at Stanford University further solidified his research capabilities and understanding of collaborative educational models, enabling him to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
In addition, he founded and served as the CEO of LifeCycled Materials, a venture focused on creating sustainable material solutions that support eco-friendly practices in engineering and design. His experience as a Lecturer in Humanitarian Engineering and Social Innovation at UC San Diego further showcases his commitment to education and mentorship, where he inspires future generations of engineers to lead with a sense of social responsibility.
