Highlights
I don’t post on here much, mostly because none of you care and have your own strong opinions on everything from your feeling about the color of Pringles all the way to the detailed study of gen-z eating habits. ie: Shit that real people don’t care about.
However … here’s mine. When I see posts about how …
TDD is “the way”
Agile is “the way”
Agile “only works with strict adherence to SCRUM”
VIPER is “the one true architecture”
Successful X only comes from Y.
Etc etc.
I automatically think that your interests are only in self promotion and having people think you’re an expert on really anything.
The reality is there’s a time and place for everything. Sometimes you have to go fast. Sometimes you have the space to take your time. Sometimes theres zero room for error. Sometimes it’s an experiment and you just need data.
The idea that with zero insight into the problems at hand, YOU have a solution is a red flag. Intelligent people see past this for what it is I hope. If not, imagine the countless businesses and developers you’re doing a disservice to by preaching.
Religion and dogma has no place in software or product development. Please give us regular folk that actually DO the work a fucking break. 12 posts in a row on LinkedIn tonight with this shit. I’m at a loss.
Please for the benefit of everyone take a hard look at what you’re doing. If you’re not here to help people grow, learn and do better PLEASE head over to Twitter instead. They like bullshit opinions over there.
