It’s always interesting to watch things shift. Just last month Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) released new survey results showing more than 50% of sites say CONSISTENCY in technology is their most critical need.
When I came to tech almost 5 years ago, “standardization” felt like a dirty word. Fast forward to today’s workforce crisis, skyrocketing active study counts, and increasing volume and complexity of study procedures and eligibility criteria. Sites simply cannot keep up.
Now we are learning that not only will good technology often come without the need to customize, but it also comes with real benefits. When tech gets it right, it can really speed up existing processes.
I’m excited to highlight some benefits shared by our site customers. Giving sites time back to be with their patients and offer them new therapies is why we do what we do.

Talking about AI and new product categories can certainly be interesting, but my experience earlier this week at SCRS West confirmed that technology is still fundamentally broken for research sites.
Here are some of my biggest takeaways:
1️⃣ There is an urgent need for sites to have more consistent ways of working in fewer systems. They are burning out because of poor tech overload. If not addressed, this will cause a delay in drug development. 2️⃣ AI is the popular buzzword, but we need to identify real use cases for how to incorporate it. There are few real examples of where AI has solved important problems for research sites to date. Will be interesting to watch this evolve with time. 3️⃣ Tech companies are great at painting the future. But, that can come with a cost. In some ways we’ve made it too complicated for sites to understand what solutions are actually available today and if existing customers are having success with them. Tech companies need to do better here.
