What do you do when one of the most important sail tears apart during the race?
In this leg from Aarhus, Denmark to The Hague the pressure was on! We were sailing to our home port. Of course we wanted to get the best place possible. But our most important sail for the course we were sailing tore apart while we were in the top 3.
The team immediately adjusted the strategy and tried to fix what is left of the sail that exploded. Altho it was not ideal, the team tried to make the best of it and because of that we even managed to get in second place at the next important mark at the north sea between England and Denmark.
Also note that Bouwe Becking was not sailing with us on this leg so all the choices were made by the young team, average age 28(?) under the lead of skipper Jelmer van Beek.
Check out this leg from Aarhus to The Hague!
