May marks a meaningful intersection of both Mental Health Awareness Month and Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians & Pacific Islanders Heritage Month. A moment to reflect on realities the AANHPI community continues to face, and the mental health stigma ingrained in our culture.

Today, I have the privilege of joining Richard Lui, Claudia Fan Munce and Tien Tzuo for the NYSE Annual AAPI Bell Celebration to discuss the crucial role of building inclusive cultures at every organizational level – a commitment that is both a priority at Calm and a personal career goal of mine.

National data shows strong representation of AANHPI in entry-level positions, but that number drops off significantly as we move higher into management levels, and we see an even larger drop off with AANHPI women. I’m honored to be a part of these conversations so that we can change this narrative for future generations and foster more inclusive companies.

I’m also proud of the work at Calm to ensure representation in our content library. Over 45% of our writers and voices are BIPOC, allowing people to find themselves in our content and creators. Be sure to check out our “Celebrating AAPI Creators” collection.

Rally Health is going to SXSW this week and our own David Ko is speaking there as part of a featured panel session with Katie Couric. This will be a fantastic opportunity to hear what we've been working on at at Rally and how we plan on tackling the problems facing health care consumers. If you plan on being in Austin for SXSW, I hope you'll join us on March 10 at 5 pm for "A Better Future Through Digital Health." http://bit.ly/2U0RnGn
