Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for South and Central Asia at Office of the U.S. Trade Representative

Brendan Lynch is currently the Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for South and Central Asia at the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR).13 He was appointed to this position in March 2024, after serving as the Acting Assistant USTR for South and Central Asia since March 2023.23

In his role, Lynch oversees the development and implementation of U.S. trade policy for 15 countries in the South and Central Asia region.1 His responsibilities include managing the U.S.-India Trade Policy Forum (TPF) and coordinating activities under Trade and Investment Framework Agreements (TIFAs) with regional partners.13

Lynch has been with USTR for over 11 years, serving in various capacities.2 His previous positions include:

Before joining USTR, Lynch worked as an International Trade Analyst at the U.S. International Trade Commission.1 He holds a B.S. from Boston College and an M.B.A. from George Washington University.13
