Highlights
everyone keeps saying that “wellness is the new genre”. that may be true, but it feels broken to me.
a bunch of models in tights telling us what FEELS good can’t be it. influencers processing their trauma in real time and giving us fear-led advice to PROTECT ourselves doesn’t feel like wellness to me. on the flip side, i hear so many well meaning coaches, facilitators and even hr folks asking “have you ever dealt with mental health?” as if mental health itself is something to be concerned about.
so, on the first day of #mentalhealthawarenessmonth, i want to give more context about my new offering PROTA.
the “ness” in wellness is key. it denotes a state of BEING, not just feeling. so, i figured any real convo about wellness has to include how the state of being well translates throughout your life, not just in a yoga studio. PROTA is wellness that’s about doing the work to actually BE better and DO better as a result.
noticing that there was a missing link in the current wellness convo, i went and studied with the people at the Flow Research Collective to really understand the connection between the neurology of performance and the neurology of wellness. PROTA was birthed out of my findings. i’ve also sat with so many healers and tribes from all over the globe to get as close to the medicine i’m offering as possible. everything we are offering is science-led and culturally-informed. i couldn’t be more grateful to bring this to you. it’s the result of almost 2 years of research and collaboration with the top people in the world.
for individuals, i will primarily offer coaching which includes access to me as a practitioner. i’m thinking about taking on 2 more clients this summer, so let me know if you’re interested.
for teams and orgs that work with professional creatives and elite athletes, i have programming built specifically for your people. DM me for more info.
let’s get to work.
#workplacewellness #wellness #mentalhealth
does anybody else feel like the wellness conversation feels stale? a bunch of talk about what might make you feel better, but not actually be better. dog whistle rhetoric about who wellness is for and whose wellness “deserves” to be invested in. models in yoga pants recycling empty 1-liners from social media.
well, if you see what i see, i’d like to introduce you to PROTA. PROTA is my new wellness company specifically built as an invitation to disrupt the current wellness conversation.
PROTA is wellness with purpose. it’s about who wellness helps you become and what wellness helps you accomplish. performance wellness. a concept built on one very simple truth: the path to peak performance and the path to optimal well-being are the same path.
everything we do is science-led. i’ve worked with some leading neurologists to co-create and vet every aspect.
everything we do is culturally-informed. i’ve spent the past two years working with healers around the world to make sure of that.
i plan to start using this platform to talk about our offerings in the near future, but for now i just want to say hello. talk soon.
