Dean, Sam M. Walton Endowed Leadership Chair
Brent D. Williams is the Dean of the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas, having been appointed to the position effective February 1, 2024. Prior to this, he served as the interim dean starting in August 2023, following the transition of former dean Matt Waller back to faculty.34
Academic Background and Career
Dr. Williams earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration with a focus on Supply Chain Management from the University of Arkansas, where he also completed his Master’s in Transportation and Logistics Management. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Lyon College.125

Highlights
As we end the second week of classes on the University of Arkansas campus I want to thank our students, faculty and staff of the Walton College for a fantastic first full week. The first week of the fall semester went smoothly and I can already sense students, faculty and staff settling into a new rhythm. I am excited for another successful semester on campus.
This semester, I am excited to be back in the classroom, co-teaching an honors course with Ann Bordelon that we are calling Leadership Lessons Learned. Each week, Ann and I will invite leaders into the classroom to engage in the class and share some of the leadership lessons that they have learned throughout their careers.
I look forward to sharing insights from our guest speakers with you throughout the semester.
