On a personal note. I’m a very happy, appreciative and humbled man today.

For those who know me well, you know that I don’t post much on social media and probably participate less than I should in social commentary. But I do love being connected to people.

I’m happy because the organization I love and the community of people in the startup/tech/innovation world here in NZ won an award last night. I’m not big into congratulatory activities but it really felt good to be congratulated. Thanks to all who did so for that.

I’m appreciative because I realize, for this moment, I have the privilege to do work I love with people I love in a community I love and in a country I love. I know that is rare, and it may be fleeting, but I really appreciate it for what it is now.

I’m humbled because I get to see greatness around me. From people who are passionate warriors for positive change like Lee Timutimu, to brilliant innovators and change makers like Trent Fulcher (who won two awards with his team last night), to caring, and responsible founders who make our lives better like Brooke Roberts and Leighton Roberts and so many others. I’m humbled to be able to know and work with people like this.

Thanks team at Creative HQ past and present. You are all rock stars! Enjoy the day.
