With a diverse background in politics, theological and pastoral training, conflict resolution, and international experience, Brian Cox's approach to diplomacy is defined by eight core values and a deliberative process that emphasizes softening hearts before problem-solving.

As an ordained Episcopal priest since 1975, with forty-two years of experience in pastoral care, Brian Cox retired in 2017, after leaving a significant mark on international affairs through various roles and projects across East Central Europe, the Balkans, Sudan, Kashmir, and the Middle East.

His expertise lies in mediating large-scale political and identity-based conflicts, making him a trained professional mediator with a wealth of experience in navigating complex diplomatic landscapes.

Brian Cox's educational background includes a Master of Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University Law School, a Doctor of Ministry Program from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Senior Executive Program from Harvard University Kennedy School of Government.

He also holds a Master of Divinity in Parish Ministry from Episcopal Divinity School and a Bachelor of Science in Geological and Earth Sciences from the University of Southern California.

Brian Cox's professional affiliations include serving as the President of the Institute for Faith-Based Diplomacy, formerly holding positions such as Adjunct Professor at Pepperdine University Law School, Senior Vice President at the International Center for Religion & Diplomacy, and Rector at Christ the King Episcopal Church in Santa Barbara, among other notable roles in various organizations.
