Brian McGhee is a dedicated professional with over 25 years of experience working with youth and young adults, focusing on education and career support through an equity lens.

With a strong background in social work and community engagement, Brian has honed his skills and built meaningful connections throughout his career.

Currently, Brian's work centers around providing support to African American students in the West Oakland community, across all education levels from K-12.

Brian has specialized experience working with former student-athletes, assisting them in their transition from sports to careers.

His academic background includes a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) from San Francisco State University, a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Social Work from the University of California, Berkeley, and he attended McClymonds High School in 1985.

Throughout his career, Brian has held various roles, including Program Manager at Oakland Unified School District, Social Worker at Casey Family Programs, School Social Worker at Alameda County Office of Education, Child Welfare Worker at Alameda County Social Services, and Group Counselor at Alameda County Juvenile Probation.
