Brian Zhang

Brian Zhang is a computational biologist with a diverse academic and professional background. He completed his undergraduate studies at Harvard College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Physics with a secondary focus in Computer Science from 2011 to 2015.2 During his time at Harvard, Zhang worked as an Undergraduate Researcher from January 2014 to May 2015, conducting research with Computer Science Professor Ryan Adams on combining quasi-randomness with Markov Chain Monte Carlo algorithms.2

After graduating from Harvard, Zhang worked as a Research Engineer at DeepMind in London from August 2015 to July 2017.2 He then pursued his doctoral studies at the University of Oxford, completing his PhD in Statistics in 2022.21

Currently, Brian Zhang is working as a Computational Biologist at Adaptive Biotechnologies Corp. since March 2023.21 His research interests include statistical genetics, population genetics, and machine learning.1

Throughout his academic career, Zhang has received several honors, including being an International Physics Olympiad Gold Medalist in 2011 and a Harvard Senior November Phi Beta Kappa inductee in 2014.2
